Sustainable Livelihoods

Horn Nature Conservation promotes sustainable livelihoods to reduce poverty, strengthen resilience, and decrease pressure on natural resources. In Somalia, many communities depend directly on the environment for survival, making them highly vulnerable to climate shocks, environmental degradation, and economic instability.

We support communities—particularly smallholder farmers, women, and youth—through environmentally sustainable income-generating activities that improve household incomes while protecting ecosystems. Our approach links conservation with livelihoods by promoting climate-smart agriculture, agroforestry, green enterprises, and access to skills, knowledge, and productive assets.
