The Community Solar Energy Access project brings clean, reliable electricity to underserved communities across Puntland. By installing solar panels at schools, health posts, and water pumping stations, we reduce dependence on firewood and charcoal while improving essential services.
In 2025, HNC installed 85 solar panels across 12 communities, benefiting thousands of residents with lighting, phone charging, and powered water access. Local technicians receive training on installation and maintenance to ensure long-term sustainability.
The project complements our reforestation work by reducing the demand for fuelwood that drives deforestation in the region.
