Somalia is among the countries most vulnerable to climate change, facing recurrent droughts, floods, desertification, and increasing pressure on fragile ecosystems. These climate shocks disproportionately affect rural communities, smallholder farmers, women, and youth whose livelihoods depend on natural resources.

Horn Nature Conservation works at the frontline of climate action by supporting communities to adapt to climate change while protecting the environment and strengthening livelihoods.

• Community Awareness on Climate Risks & Adaptation — training, dialogue, and participatory approaches that empower communities to take locally appropriate action.
• Water Conservation & Soil Restoration — rainwater harvesting, efficient irrigation, improved soil fertility, and erosion control.
• Agroforestry — integrating trees into farming systems to restore soil fertility, enhance biodiversity, and reduce deforestation.
• Climate-Positive Energy Solutions — expanding access to solar energy for households, schools, and productive use.
• Partnerships & Stakeholder Engagement — working with government, local authorities, farmers’ groups, and development partners.
