Climate-Smart Agriculture for Resilient Farmers

Total Money Required: USD 62,000

Training and supporting smallholder farmers with drought-tolerant crops, efficient irrigation, and sustainable farming techniques.

This programme equips smallholder farmers across Mudug region with the tools and knowledge to adapt to increasingly unpredictable rainfall patterns. Through farmer field schools, participants learn climate-smart techniques including drought-tolerant seed varieties, drip irrigation, mulching, and integrated pest management.

In 2025 alone, 436 farmers received direct support including seeds, tools, and technical training. The project also establishes demonstration plots where farmers can observe and replicate successful practices.

Women farmers receive particular attention, with dedicated training sessions and support for forming agricultural cooperatives.
