Mangrove Restoration Milestone Celebration
Celebrating the restoration of 654 hectares of coastal mangroves with coastal communities and project partners.
In December 2025, Horn Nature Conservation celebrated a major milestone in our Coastal Mangrove Restoration Initiative — the successful rehabilitation of 654 hectares of mangrove forest along the Puntland coastline.
The event brought together coastal community members, government representatives, and international partners including UNDP and FAO. Community mangrove stewards were recognized for their dedication, and participants planted an additional 10,000 seedlings to mark the occasion.
This achievement represents years of collaborative effort and demonstrates the power of community-led conservation in Somalia.
